Lopamudra Ray

Assistant Professor

Dr Lopamudra Ray obtained her PhD Degree from KIIT University in 2012. Her PhD topic was "Isolation, taxonomic characterization, partial purification of chitinases and application potential of novel Streptomyces strain from Chilika Lake". After completion of her PhD she joined as a research scientist in School of Biotechnology, KilT University. During her course of doctoral studies , Dr Ray looked for chitin degrading Streptomyces strains with novel properties. She had also visited Swiss Federal Inst itute of Environmental Sciences ( EA WAG), ETH and received exposure to various techniques i n the filed of environmental and molecular microbiology . She has qualified National Eligibility Test conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research 2005. • She also Worked as Post Doctoral Research Scientist (3Years) from 2013 to 2016 in a World Bank funded project on “Isolation and Characterization of Benthic as well as Littoral Microbial Flora of Chilika Lake sponsored by World bank in School of Biotech, KIIT. She is working as a Assistant Professor in School of Law since 2016. She teaches Recombinant DNA technology, Fundamentals of Biotechnology and Forensic Sciences to BSc LLB students and Microbiology to MSc Microbiology and MSc Biotechnology students in other schools.
