Mr. Jonathan Granoff, President of the Global Security Institute, on his visit to KIIT & KIIT, was conferred the KISS Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Granoff is an attorney, author and international advocate emphasizing the legal and ethical dimensions of human development and security, with a specific focus on advancing the rule of law to address international security and the threats posed by nuclear weapons. He serves on numerous governing and advisory boards including Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy, Fortune Forum, Jane Goodall Institute, the NGO Committee on Disarmament, Peace and Security, Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament, and Middle Powers initiative. He has many more accolades added to his name along with being Nobel Peace Prize Nominee.

Mr. Granoff was welcomed to KIIT School of Law for his Popular Lecture on 16th and 17th November,2025, was heartily welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) K.D Raju, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU, Prof. Dr. N.L Mitra, Professor Emeritus, School of law, School Leadership, Faculties and students of LLB, LLM and Ph.D. Scholars. and enlightened the faculties as well as students about the multifarious aspects of global security and international law machineries used to regulate and monitor global policies. He graced the law school with two days of his lecture and discussed the notion of our Indian Parliament which has stated that the whole world is my family.  He mentioned the dynamics of our Indian mythology inclusive of Ramayana and Mahabharata by relating it to the regulations of war and rules to distinguish civilians and militants for the protection and safety of the society implying the existence of norms to regulate wars for the security of the society since time immemorial. He narrated on the aspect that safety of mankind transcends beyond boarders and the responsibility of world peace is also vested upon the citizens of the countries. He emphasized on the eradication of nuclear weapons and stated that the creation of nuclear weapons amounts to more threat than security. Further, he analyzed the cold war and both world wars shaping the contemporary nuclear nations, the establishment along with the implementations and regulations laid down under the Nuclear Proliferation treaty. The talk ended with a thank you note delivered by Dr. Kyvalya Garapati, Dean (Academics) along with the interactive session with the faculties and students of KIIT Law School. Mr. Granoff also had a fruitful discussion with the school leadership team for future collaborations.
