Anurag K. Shukla

  • Law Graduate from Campus Law Centre (CLC), University of Delhi in 1999.
  • Overall, 25 years of experience in litigation, legal advisory and contract management.
  • 1999 to 2008 – Practised as an Advocate and handled cases of several Companies – such as IDBI, HDFC, ACC Cements, Philips, LIC etc.
  • 2008 to 2013 – Worked as DGM- Legal with Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd. (“Arcil”). Arcil was the first Securitisation and Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) to be set up under SARFAESI Act, 2002 for acquisition and resolution of NPAs of various Banks and Financial Institutions. This role involved:
  • Resolution of NPAs (secured as well as unsecured) acquired from several banks and financial institution across India.
  • Handling of thousands of court cases pending in several States.
  • Drafting/Vetting of documents relating to resolution of NPAs.
  • The role also involved creation of multiple Trusts for proper management of cashflow from diverse loan portfolios.
  • 2013 to 2018 – Worked as Head-Legal at Kotak Life Insurance.
  • 2018 to 2022 – Continued to work as Head-Legal at Kotak Life Insurance and also supervised the Legal affairs of Kotak Mutual Fund as an additional portfolio. The tenure at Kotak involved management of:
  • Investment related documents;
  • Documents relating to corporate tie-ups with Banks/FIs and other entities;
  • Policy documents for Insurance business;
  • Diverse Litigation portfolio;
  • 2022 to 2023 – Worked as Head-Legal at SBI Life Insurance. This role involved an additional role of co-ordination with government bodies at different levels in connection with insurance business.
  • May 2023 – Founded Samvida Legal, a law firm at Mumbai. The firm handles various business related documentation and legal advisory – in BFSI, Film and MSME Sectors.

Ashish A. Ahuja

Ashish Ahuja completed his B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law School of India University, Bangalore in the year 1996 and has been with the firm since his graduation. He is presently the Joint Managing Partner of the Firm and is known for his vast experience and practice across multiple spectrums of law. Ashish regularly advises clients on areas of banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate advisory, infrastructure and projects, telecommunications, media and technology laws. Ashish’s clients include leading financial and banking institutions, large public corporates, multi-national companies, fund houses.
Ashish Ahuja has over 25 years of experience in handling corporate and financial transactional matters and has a well- established reputation in the market. He spearheads the corporate practice of the firm and advises clients across all sectors.
