The 7th All India KIIT Mock Trial Competition 2024 commenced with an engaging inaugural ceremony at the KIIT School of Law, Bhubaneswar. The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Rose Varghese, Director of the School of Law, alongside other esteemed guests such as Prof. (Dr.) N.L. Mitra, Mr.Abhishek Choudhury (Founder of Legis Orbis), Prof. (Dr.) Rajan Varghese ,Prof. (Dr.) Kyvalya Garikapati and Dr.Shyamantak Misra (Faculty Convenor of TAAS). The three-day event showcased the legal acumen of participants from premier law schools across India, featuring various competitive rounds, training sessions, and insightful courtroom simulations.
On 23rd November, the Prelimnary and Semi Final rounds were judged by practicing advocates from High Court of Orissa and the Finals were judged by Senior Advocates and Sitting District and Sessions Judge of Orissa High Court.
The valedictory ceremony on November 24th was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sashikanta Mishra, Judge of the High Court of Orissa, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Subir Palit, Senior Advocate of the High Court of Orissa, as the Guest of Honour. Dr.Shyamantak Misra, Faculty Convenor, delivered the welcome address, in the presence of Prof.(Dr.)Saranjit Singh (Vice-Chancellor of KIIT-DU), Prof.(Dr.)Debashis Bandyopadhyay (Pro-Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU), Prof.(Dr.)Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty (Registrar KIIT-DU) and other faculties, delegates and Students, followed by remarks from legal dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) Rose Varghese and Prof. (Dr.) N.L. Mitra. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, acknowledging the achievements of the participants and celebrating the success of the competition
