On April 18, 2024, a transformative educational journey unfolded as 60 students from the 8th semester of KIIT School of Law embarked on a field visit to the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Odisha. Led by Dr. Tulishree Pradhan, Assistant Professor at KIIT School of Law, the visit aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical insights into environmental law and management.
The students were privileged to engage with key figures at SPCB, including Chief Legal Advisor Sri. Bhagbat Prasad Pattajoshi and Chief Environment Engineer Sri. Rabi Narayan Prusti. Through interactive sessions, they delved into various dimensions of environmental pollution laws, with a particular focus on hazardous waste management. Dr. Tulishree Pradhan elucidated the objectives of the visit and underscored the significance of such experiential learning opportunities in shaping future legal professionals. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between academic institutions like KIIT School of Law and regulatory bodies such as SPCB in nurturing a deeper understanding of environmental laws and their enforcement mechanisms.
Facilitating the program were esteemed faculty coordinators Ms. Madhuri Meelee, Dr. Maneesha Mishra, Dr. Chinmayee Nanda and Ms. Tulip Suman whose guidance ensured a fruitful and enriching experience for the students.
