We are delighted to share that Dr. Sonali Swetapadma was invited as a Guest Speaker by the Zonal Institute of Education and Training (ZIET), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Bhubaneswar, to deliver a lecture on “The POCSO Act, 2012: Legal Provisions and Responsibilities” on 16th December 2025.
The session was conducted as part of a three-day workshop titled “Social Safety and Security – Ensuring a Conducive Environment in Schools”, organised for Headmasters and Primary School Teachers from the Kolkata, Ranchi, and Tinsukia Regions.
The lecture focused on the statutory framework of the POCSO Act, institutional duties relating to prevention, reporting, and compliance, and the role of school authorities in fostering child-safe educational environments. The interaction enabled participants to better understand their legal responsibilities and practical obligations in safeguarding children.
The session was well received and contributed meaningfully to the objectives of the workshop by strengthening legal awareness and reinforcing the importance of child protection within school systems.
