Dr. Amlan Chakraborty is currently teaching law as Assistant Professor- Grade I at KIIT(Deemed to be university). He has successfully completed his PhD in the area of interface between IPR and Competition laws at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. He teaches insolvency law, intellectual property rights law, administrative law at his present workplace.

He has also taught previously at National Law University, Odisha and has been invited as a lecturer at many reputed law schools across the country such as Gujarat National Law University and National Law University, Odisha.

He was also a UGC-JRF fellow at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. He has pursued his LL.M in Business laws from the prestigious National Law School of India University, Bengaluru where he was also a teaching assistant to Prof. T. Ramkrishna having taught intellectual property laws to undergraduate students.

His research interests lie in the areas of intellectual property laws, insolvency laws and competition laws and has published in many reputed journals across the country and globally.
