Binita Behera
Assistant Professor I
Dr. Binita Behera is Assistant Professor I, teaching Sociology since last 6 years at KIIT School of Law. She leverages 14 years of research as well as leadership in various organizations as diverse as governmental agencies such as ICAR, OPEPA to funding agencies such as UNICEF, ActionAid, Schumacher Centre, research agencies such as ICAR, Indian Social Institute and Sansristi and lastly grassroots agencies such as Asha Kiran Society and EFICOR and CANA. She has worked on diverse issues such as women in agriculture, girls' education, teachers' training, HIV/AIDS, prevention of sex selective abortion in India, issues related to public health and education of tribals and human rights of the disabled. With a robust background of praxis and theoretical perspective building, her work in the law school bridges theory and practice, exploring intersections of law, society and justice. Dr. Binita is committed to fostering critical thinking and advocacy skills among students, preparing them to address contemporary challenges in law and social justice.
