Satya Narayan Jena

Assistant Professor

Mr. Satya Narayan Jena, Assistant Professor at the School of Law, KIIT University has done his B.A. with Political Science (Hons.) from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack; M.A. (Political Science) from University of Delhi and M.Phil. from the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has done his LL.B. from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. He is currently pursuing his PhD from CPS/JNU, New Delhi.

He worked as a Research Assistant for DCRC, University of Delhi and Council for Social Development, New Delhi conducting field survey on socio-economic impacts of 1999 Odisha Super Cyclone and highlighted critical issues relating to disaster management.

As Social Researcher with Centre for Youth & Social Development(CYSD), Bhubaneswar, he studied landlessness among marginalized groups in Odisha, status of government land distribution schemes and worked for implementation of the Forest Rights Act in tribal areas.

As a consulting Social Researcher for Institute for Social & Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore, Mr. Jena contributed towards preparing District Plan and District Vision Document 2020 for Jajpur District.

As visiting faculty, he has taught politics and public policy in the National Law University of Odisha at Cuttack, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Tuljapur, Maharstra and Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar.

Mr. Jena has been teaching in the School of Law at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar since 2010. During 2018-2021, he took a sabbatical from teaching to engage in social and public work in the state. He has resumed teaching at the KIIT Law School since September 2021.
