The Centre for Criminal Law and Justice Administration (CCLCJA), KIIT School of Law, hosted the 2nd Intra Crime Scene Investigation Competition on March 21, 2024, drawing an impressive turnout of more than 100 student participants. The meticulous organizing committee dedicated over a week to comprehensive preparations, crafting the background narrative, the intricate crime scene, and the definitive solution.
The participants were divided into batches to methodically observe the mock crime scene. Their task was to analyze the available evidence and to identify the potential culprit out of all the suspects. The event garnered an unprecedented level of enthusiasm, attracting one of the highest registration numbers for an intra-college event. Even after the competition concluded, participants demonstrated an unwavering enthusiasm, eagerly revisiting the crime scene to further analyze the evidence. Notably, the event garnered participation from not only students but also faculty members and non-teaching staff, underscoring the interdisciplinary appeal of crime scene investigation.
The resounding success of the CCLCJA’s Crime Scene Investigation Competition is a testament to the organization’s commitment to fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the justice system among the student community.
