The Centre of Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Administration (CCLCJA), KIIT School of Law, successfully hosted the 4th edition of the Crime Scene Investigation Competition as a flagship event of KIITFEST 9.0. The event aimed to promote experiential learning in criminal investigation and forensic studies and received an enthusiastic response from students across institutions.
The competition recorded 864 registrations across various disciplines, out of which 603 participants actively competed, forming 201 teams. Participants examined a simulated crime scene, analysed evidence, and applied investigative reasoning to reconstruct the sequence of events, thereby connecting theoretical knowledge with practical investigation techniques.
Following a rigorous evaluation process, Team TC-25 from the School of Computer Science secured the First Prize. The team members were Gaumick Hazra, Soumyadip Dey, and Zohaib Ali. The Second Prize was awarded to SOA National Institute of Law, with team members Parag Parijat, Kahkashan Parween, and Aryan K. Jha.
A Special Mention was awarded to the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Bhubaneswar, for recording the highest external participation.
The event was successfully conducted with the dedicated efforts of student convenors, volunteers, and participants, making it a vibrant platform for practical learning and inter-university engagement in the field of crime scene investigation.
