The KIIT School of Law, KIIT Deemed to be University, achieved a remarkable success as its student team was adjudged the Best Trial Advocacy Team at the 2nd NUALS National Trial Advocacy Competition 2026, organised by National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi.
The winning team comprised Trisha Tanaya Patra (Speaker 1), Shiksha Singh (Speaker 2), and Chetan Bajaj (Researcher), all first-year students of KIIT School of Law. Competing against teams from leading law schools across the country, the team secured the First Position, bringing laurels to the institution.
The competition commenced with Virtual Qualifier Rounds held on 10 January 2026, where the Researcher round assessed participants on their understanding of substantive and procedural law. Chetan Bajaj successfully qualified the team for the advanced stages. The team subsequently competed in the Offline Oral Rounds conducted from 30 January to 1 February 2026, involving multiple stages of trial advocacy including opening statements, examination and cross-examination of witnesses, and closing arguments.
The team’s consistent performance, courtroom discipline, and advocacy skills culminated in a well-deserved victory at the national level.
