Ms. Tulip Suman, Faculty Member, KIIT School of Law, KIIT Deemed to be University, served as a Resource Person at the Regional Conference on Gender Rights and Workplace Safety of Women held on 24th February 2026 at the Black Diamond Auditorium Hall, Angul, Odisha.

The conference was organized by the Crime Against Women & Children Wing of the Odisha Police Crime Branch under the North Central Range, Talcher. The event witnessed the participation of nearly 180 stakeholders, including officials from the police, district administration, forest and excise departments, and representatives from leading corporate entities such as JSPL, NALCO, MCL, and NTPC.

During the technical sessions, Ms. Suman delivered an insightful presentation on evolving gender jurisprudence and workplace safety frameworks. She addressed key themes including foundational concepts of gender, unconscious bias, the legal evolution from the Vishaka Guidelines to the POSH Act, landmark judicial precedents, institutional accountability mechanisms, and the importance of sensitive policing in cases involving crimes against women. She shared the platform with Mrs. Namrata Chadha, contributing to meaningful discussions on strengthening workplace safeguards and ensuring effective redressal mechanisms.

The conference was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Sri Satyabrata Bhoi, IPS, Inspector General of Police, North Central Range; Shri Abdal M. Akhtar, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Angul; Shri Rahul Jain, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Angul; and Shri Ganesh Behera, Deputy Director of Prosecution. The speakers emphasized proactive administrative leadership, functional Internal Complaints Committees, and a zero-tolerance approach towards harassment and gender-based discrimination.

The participation of KIIT School of Law in such significant regional deliberations reflects the institution’s continued commitment to advancing gender justice, legal awareness, and institutional accountability.
