Sri Udit Narayan Mishra, Assistant Professor of Law, KIIT School of Law, conducted a significant technical session on Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) at a Capacity Building Workshop for railway law enforcement agencies on March 23, 2026, in Bhubaneswar.
The workshop, organized by the National Commission for Women in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force, East Coast Railway, brought together officers from GRP, RPF, CISF, and Odisha Police.
Mr. Mishra provided a comprehensive five-part framework addressing international obligations under the Palermo Protocol, recent legal developments under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and crucial procedural strategies, including the importance of the “Golden Hour” in evidence collection.
He emphasized victim-centric approaches under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, advocating non-criminalization and trauma-informed handling of victims. His session effectively bridged legal theory with enforcement realities, enhancing the practical understanding of anti-trafficking mechanisms among officers.
