On April 9, 2026, the Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainability (CESS) at KIIT School of Law was successfully inaugurated during a panel discussion titled “Decoding India’s Green Framework: EPA, Pollution Boards, Forest & Wildlife Protection Laws”, held from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Conference Hall, Library Annexe.
The event unfolded precisely as per the agenda, commencing with welcomes and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor’s address, followed by logo unveiling and opening remarks by Prof. N.L Mitra and Prof. Manoj Sadual. Distinguished panelists-Shri Bhagbat Prasad Pattajoshi (SPCB Legal Advisor), Shri Vishwanath Neelannavar IFS, and Shri Lingaraj Otta IFS (Retd.)-delivered insightful addresses on environmental regulations, interspersed with Q&A sessions. Concluding with thanks, photographs, and lunch, the program lasted approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

CESS serves as a multidisciplinary hub advancing UN Sustainable Development Goals through research, advocacy, biodiversity conservation, climate action and community empowerment via grassroots initiatives. Flawlessly organized under Faculty Coordinator Dr. Tulishree Pradhan and Student Convenor Mr. Arnav Nayak, the event fostered environmental stewardship.
