The Centre for Intellectual Property Studies (CIPS), in collaboration with the Department of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Law & Practice and the Student Alumni Relations Committee, KIIT School of Law, KIIT Deemed to be University, organised an engaging online guest lecture on 13th April 2026.

The session featured Ishaan Michael, a licensed legal advisor in Lao PDR associated with DFDL, and a proud alumnus of KIIT School of Law.

During the lecture, Mr. Michael offered valuable insights into the practical dimensions of sports law, effectively addressing the gap between legal theory and real-world execution. He elaborated on key contractual aspects such as activation obligations, post-term intellectual property rights, and exclusivity clauses in sports agreements.

He further discussed the evolving landscape of sports law in India and shared thoughtful guidance with students on building credibility, gaining practical exposure, and developing expertise in this emerging field.

The session proved to be both insightful and enriching, reflecting KIIT School of Law’s continued commitment to fostering meaningful academic engagement and alumni interaction.
