KIIT School of Law is proud to share that Dr. Sambhabi Patnaik, Professor and Head, Department of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), represented the institution as an esteemed speaker at the World Congress on New Environmental Standards, International Climate Litigation, and Environmental Policy for Security and Biodiversity, held on 15 June 2026.

The prestigious international forum brought together more than 120 legal scholars, researchers, and experts from over 25 countries to deliberate on contemporary environmental and climate-related challenges. During the Congress, Dr. Patnaik delivered an insightful presentation titled “Deceptive Eco-Labels and Greenwashing: The Role of Trademark Law and Climate Litigation in Enforcing Corporate Accountability.”

Her presentation explored the critical intersection of intellectual property law, environmental governance, and climate justice, highlighting how trademark law and climate litigation can serve as effective tools for promoting corporate transparency and addressing deceptive sustainability claims.
