Dr. Swati Mohapatra of KIIT School of Law was invited as an Expert Speaker at a one-day training programme on “Juvenile Justice Act: Role of Police,” organised by the Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar–Cuttack, at Police Seva Bhavan on 9 October 2026.
During the programme, Dr. Mohapatra delivered an expert lecture on “Conditions for Apprehension, Custody and Bail of Children in Conflict with the Law (CCL), with Recent Case Laws.” Her session highlighted the importance of child-rights-oriented policing, statutory safeguards, and significant judicial precedents under the Juvenile Justice framework.
The training programme aimed to strengthen the capacity of police personnel to handle cases involving children in conflict with the law in a lawful, sensitive, and child-friendly manner. The session underscored the importance of adhering to the legal safeguards governing apprehension, custody, and bail while ensuring that the rights and welfare of children remain central to the justice process.
KIIT School of Law congratulates Dr. Swati Mohapatra on this meaningful academic engagement and her valuable contribution to professional training and the promotion of child-sensitive justice.
