The International Relations Office (IRO) of KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU) along with the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), New Delhi, organised a National Security Symposium on the 16 th of April 2024 in the campus of KIIT School of Law (KSOL). The most prominent think tank in India for advanced research in international relations, particularly defence, strategic, and security issues, is the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA), located in New Delhi. It was formerly known as the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) and trained Indian government officers in the civilian, military, and paramilitary spheres. Although it receives funding from the Indian Ministry of Defence, it is an independent, nonpartisan organization. Its mission is to advance both domestic and global security through conducting defence and security-related research and sharing findings with decision-makers and the general public. The event began with welcome speeches by the honourable Director IRO Amb. Debraj Pradhan, honourable Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy and our honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saranjit Singh. All of them spoke about the importance of inculcation of interest within the citizens of the nation in regards to India’s foreign policy especially in regards to the area of defence because of the dynamic and continuously evolving world order. Prof. Saranjit also elaborated upon the aim towards ‘Vikshit Bharat’.

The first presentation in this conference was by Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy who was also the chief guest of the conference on the topic – India China Relation in a Changing World Order. In this Amb. Chinoy spoke in regards to India’s cultural impact on China, China’s rise, and the current situation in the world. India gave a lot more to China than what it received back through Buddhism and Hindu-Buddhist thought and philosophy. China’s place in the old-world order, Middle kingdom syndrome, and rivalry with the US have led to disruption in balance of power. China continues to employ ancient strategies of divide and rule, encirclement, and subjugation using force, bribe, etc. He also mentioned the resets in India- China ties, mistrust between the two countries, and China’s unilateral LAC to seek more territory. Dialogue is continued and it should continue. The way forward is for India and China to have good relations, fight stereotypes, and abide by consensus of Wuhan/Malappuram, and many other. 6. Dr Adil Rasheed, Research Fellow, Coordinator of Counter-Terrorism Center MP- IDSA. Topic: “Radicalisation”

Responsibility and Doctrine of Non-intervention” After the completion of all the presentations by the respective panellists, a very intriguing and mind stimulating Q&A session was done between the participants who were present in the conference and the panellists. Participants put forward various questions to the panellists in reference to what the respective panellists presented and also various other question in regards to defence studies and international relations which the participants wanted to know more about. The event was huge success because of the wonderful collaboration between KIIT IRO and MP-IDSA which was smoothly conducted by the Centre for International Law & Diplomacy (CILD) of KSOL.
