On July 9, 2023, a group of students from the KIIT Centre for Constitutional Studies and Research of School of Law had the privilege of meeting with former Justice of Supreme Court of India Kurian Joseph at his residence in Delhi. The purpose of the meeting was to engage in an enlightening discussion on constitutional law and gain insights from Justice Kurian Joseph’s extensive experience as a Supreme Court Justice in India. Justice Kurian Joseph provided an overview of his illustrious career in the judiciary, highlighting significant cases he had presided over during his tenure on the Supreme Court of India. The students introduced themselves, expressing their interest in constitutional law and research.

The discussion focused on various approaches to constitutional interpretation, including textualism, originalism, and living constitutionalism. Justice Kurian Joseph shared his insights into the importance of balancing the need for stability and adaptability in interpreting the Indian Constitution.
