KIIT School of Law, 4th year students, Shameeha Tarafdar and Suryadeep Nanda have been declared the winners of the 1st IILM Client Counselling Competition, 2025, held at IILM University, Gurugram. The competition, which concluded on 28th and 29th March, featured a series of complex client counselling scenarios encompassing the legal domains of Criminal Law, Cyber Laws, and Family Laws.
Participants were evaluated on their ability to conduct effective client interviews, identify pertinent legal issues, and provide appropriate counsel. The judging panel, comprised of esteemed legal professionals, assessed participants on their analytical skills, communication proficiency, and empathetic approach to client interactions.
The competition served as a platform for aspiring legal professionals to hone their practical skills and deepen their understanding of client-centered legal practice. Particular emphasis was placed on the necessity of empathetic engagement in the client-counsel relationship.
The awards were presented by Mr. Salman Khurshid, who commended the participants on their dedication and proficiency.
