"Dr. Parimita Dash holds a Ph.d from Dept. of Law, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha on IPR and also has an LLM degree with IPR specialization from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, India and 5 year Integrated Law degree- BA-LLB(Hons.) from University Law College, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Her research area pertains to Intellectual Property Law in general and Biodiversity laws, Geographical Indications and Plant varieties & Farmer Rights Laws under the IPR regime in particular. In a span of more than 13 years of teaching at KIIT School of Law, Dr. Dash has taught papers like General IPR, IPR Hons. Papers like Geographical Indications, Biodiversity law, Plant Variety & Farmer rights laws, law relating to Copyright, Law relating to Trademark, Cyber Laws etc. to the students at Law School, School of Biotechnology and School of Technology and has done extensive research on various areas of IPR. Dr. Dash has presented more than 25 research papers in various national and international conferences and seminars on various areas of Law with a major focus on Intellectual Property Law and has attended a number of Training and Faculty Development Programs. She has around 20 major publications to her credit in various Scopus indexed, WoS indexed, UGC Care listed Journals and other peer reviewed Journals of national and international repute. Dr. Dash is regularly invited as a resource person to deliver lectures at various seminars conducted by various colleges/institutions in and outside the State of Odisha on various areas of Intellectual Property Laws. She has delivered many lectures to District judges of Odisha during their refresher & training program at Odisha Judicial Academy, Cuttack. Dr. Dash has also been invited to deliver lecture at the Awareness program on Intellectual Property Rights under NMCP Scheme of DCMSME, Govt. of India, for IPR programs Conducted by Dept. of Science and Technology, for Workshops on Access and Benefit Sharing mechanism under IPR framework conducted by State Biodiversity Board (SBB) Odisha, for IPR awareness Programs conducted by Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Training Program conducted National Institute of MSME, Govt of India, Dr. Dash has conducted several IPR awareness programs in collaboration with patent Information centre (PIC), Dept. of Science and Technology, Gov.t of Odisha, in various science and engineering colleges of Odisha like National Institute of Technology, Odisha, P.M. College of Engineering, Berhampur, Institute of Pharmacy and Technology, Odisha, DRIEMS Autonomous Engineering College, Cuttack. Dr. Dash has also delivered Lectures on various aspects of IPR at various Universities like Mumbai University, Utkal University, Odisha, Fakir Mohan University, Odisha, Sambalpur University, Odisha, Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, West Bengal, Bharat University, Chennai etc. Dr. Dash has also been a resource person at the International Conference on “Evolving Trends for an International Regime on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources and Associated TK” based on WIPO negotiations, conducted by National Law School of India University (NLSIU, Bangalore under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India.
